Meeting August 15-16, 2007 - Dennis Flaherty
"Saturn: Slowing Down the Fast Burn in the Fast Times"
"Saturn: Lord of Truth and Consequences" |
FRIDAY NIGHT - Saturn: Slowing Down the Fast Burn in the Fast Times
As the slowest of the ancient planets, Saturn himself has become a representation of time itself, the eternal chronographer who measures the journey of life itself, iconographically pictured as an old man moving slowly. As they say "Time waits for no one", but everyone these days is urged to move forward quickly in all things in the span of a "New York Minute".
Speed has become the essence in all things we do. As if fastness mattered in the grand scheme of Saturn's timepiece. Since the discovery of oil in Pennsylvania in 1859, the farming of this ancient earth-based carbon based sunlight has dramatically sped up the time clock of our modern lives through oil based technologies. No prior generation has experienced such a ballistic distortion of time, with the resultant often deadly delusion that this fast sense of time is normal and natural. As Saturn again returns to the constellations where oil was discovered in these times of "peak oil", he will impose his measured limits and gradually slow down the fast burn of the fast times to prepare us for the slow times to come, for as we all know: "You can't hurry old man time."
SATURDAY Workshop - Saturn: Lord of Truth and Consequences
This workshop will explore the most revered and often most feared of the planets from an East/West astrological perspective. Saturn's planetary effects often invoke unreasonable fears in people's impressionable minds, and many ignorant astrologers have unwittingly played upon this fear. Fear is nothing more than an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real! It is Saturn's timeless task to cut through this false evidence and reveal what is true and timeless. Saturn represents the Yogi and the path of detachment from the pain and suffering of this world. As Lord of Truth, Saturn teaches us to fearlessly allow what is false to die and to gradually awaken to what I real and eternal. Don't delay - sign up for Saturn's workshop today!
