FRIDAY NIGHT Lecture - "Art, Astrology, and the Sacred Feminine"
This Power Point slide show and lecture explores
the sacred feminine in art and astrology, envisioning astrology as
it could be if it gave rightful honor to She who is old before time,
the form of energy, the eternal Wheel. With a few cartoons, we'll
take a lighthearted look at past and current imbalances in our
astrological system. Then, with visual art and discussion, we'll
explore the great Goddess as She dances in the elements of the
ancients, and in the eight phases of Moon. We'll celebrate Venus and
Luna, while also seeing Her potential for the so-called masculine
planets and signs, as well. Discover interesting alternatives for
those eight-out-of-ten god-ruled planets, just for fun...but also,
perhaps, for the future!
SATURDAY Workshop - "Moon Tides, Soul
Passages"
Explore the powerful lunar phase cycle and
more in an all-day workshop on the Moon and how she reflects the
passages of your soul. We'll begin with a Power Point slide
show with many visuals from art, nature and seasonal cycles
designed to evoke your intuitive understanding of the Rudhyar
lunar phase cycle and the signs of the Moon. The slide
presentation concludes with public figure examples of the theory
applied. During the open discussion to follow, we'll continue to
apply the theory by working with the personal lunar phenomena of
participants. Each participant who registers in advance with birth
data will receive a one-page personalized report that lists his or
her natal and lifetime progressed lunar phases and progressed sign
ingresses printed from the software that comes with Maria's book,
Moon Tides, Soul Passages. Questions will be welcome and the
sharing of personal experiences encouraged. The workshop will
close with a participatory meditation based on the lunar sign and
phase of the day.

Getting to Know Maria K. Simms
Maria Kay Simms, an astrologer for 30 years, is
certified as a professional consultant by National Council for
Geocosmic Research (CA NCGR) and by American Federation of
Astrologers (PMAFA). She is a former Chair of NCGR, and is a
member of Association of Professional Astrologers International (APAI).
Her most recent book is Moon Tides, Soul Passages. Prior books
include Dial Detective, Future Signs, Your Magical Child, The
Witch's Circle and A Time for Magick. Maria is also a Wiccan
High Priestess. She has credentials as clergy through Covenant
of the Goddess, and also through a prior ordination in Church of
Religious Science. Recently she has revived an earlier career
in art. Through her small business, Starcrafts Publishing,
she's creating art products using her paintings and those of her
